Berkut fighters, who arrived at the building of the Donetsk regional police department, blocked by supporters of federalization, for negotiations, tied St. George ribbons . The policemen declared that they supported the demands of the protesters and refused to obey their command. On the same day, the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk region of Ukraine, Major General Konstantin Pozhidaev, announced that he was resigning at the request of the protesters. Supporters of federalization occupied administrative buildings in three cities of the Donetsk region – Slavyansk , Krasny Liman and Kramatorsk . Also, the protesters in Donetsk supported the creation of their own “people’s army”.
