Slovyansk votes for the DPR

In Slavyansk, 97.5% supported the independence of the DNR, said a representative of the election commission. 72.1% of the city’s residents took part in the referendum.

Ukrainian troops are shelling Slavyansk from the height of Karachun.

The mortar shelling began around 05:00 local time (06:00 Moscow time). Explosions are distributed with a frequency of one minute. The shelling comes from the side of the TV tower, from Mount Karachun. The National Guard is firing at checkpoints, but there is information about mines hitting residential buildings. At the moment, there is no information about the dead, injured and destruction.
The day before, a vote was held in Slovyansk at a referendum on self-determination, held in connection with the proclamation of the Donetsk People’s Republic in April. According to the “people’s governor” of Slavyansk, the inhabitants of the besieged city demonstrated the “highest” turnout. According to him, “this has never happened in any election.”
