THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE
The protesting residents of the region announced the establishment of the People’s Council of the Donetsk region . The People’s Council announced its intention to create the Donetsk Republic and become part of the Russian Federation after a referendum on this issue no later than May 11. The Donetsk People’s Council also adopted an appeal to Russia with a request to bring in a peacekeeping contingent.

PROTESTERS OCCUPIED THE SBU BUILDING IN DONETSK
In Donetsk, protesters occupied the building of the regional department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) at night. This is reported by local media. “The people’s militia of Donbass at 3.32 in the morning, organized within 15 minutes, captured the SBU of the Donetsk region,” the Internet portal of the Ukrainian newspaper Vesti quotes the statement of the participants in the action. At the moment, there is “strengthening the perimeter of the building to repel a possible assault.”
