About 400 people gathered on Freedom Square in support of European integration

7 December 2013

A rally  against  Euromaidan was held, which was attended by about 10 thousand people. The rally was attended by the governor, mayor and deputies of all levels.

The head of the regional council, Pelykh, officially announced that he was relinquishing his powers under pressure from a group of people.

At the Kherson airport,  the plane with the presidential candidate Dobkin was blocked.

KHERSON GOVERNOR CALLED HITLER A LIBERATOR


The governor of the Kherson region, Yuriy Odarchenko, was booed by the townspeople for calling Hitler a liberator in his solemn speech.

29 May 2014

The Security Service of Ukraine arrested on charges of espionage and treason the director of a school in the village of Aleksandrovka, Kherson region, Sergei Bugaev. Two days before, his son Andrei, a third-year cadet at the Nakhimov Black Sea Naval School, told his father by phone that he had received a Russian passport, after which the teacher was taken straight from school and sent to the Kiev pre-trial detention center.
