Chronology of events in the Ivano-Frankivsk region

2 December 2013

The militants of the VO "Svoboda" made the first attempts to forcefully seize the building of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration (ROA). The capture failed.

24 January 2014

The building of the Regional State Administration in Ivano-Frankivsk was seized. The protesters broke into the premises of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional administration of Ukraine. They immediately went to the office of Vasily Chudnov, chairman of the Regional State Administration, but did not find him at his workplace. Opposition supporters blocked all exits from the building, which was surrounded by about 5,000 people.

The Alpha unit in its entirety went over to the side of the opposition (Maidan).

19 February 2014

Euromaidan supporters seized the local administration of the SBU, from where weapons were stolen: three machine guns, 268 pistols and 90 grenades.

21 February 2014

Representatives of the "Right Sector" broke into the house of the mayor of the city of Tysmenitsa, Ivano-Frankivsk region, B. Darchin, and searched it. They were looking for some documents and the mayor himself, who managed to escape. The next day, B. Darchin wrote a letter of resignation.

25 February 2014

In Ivano-Frankivsk, activists of the "Right Sector" and "Maidan self-defense" broke into the office of the "Trading Service" company and seized director I. Dutka, who headed the Ivano-Frankivsk city organization of the Party of Regions. He was led out to the crowd and forced on his knees to ask for forgiveness.

24 April 2014

Militants of the radical nationalist organization "Right Sector"  stormed  the building of the regional state administration in the city of Kolomyia in the Ivano-Frankivsk region in western Ukraine. This was reported by local media.
